From an unappealing nine-acre piece of land, the gardens of the Bannockburn Baptist Church have evolved over the past 8 years into a recognized major public garden. The men’s senior Bible study group, led by Master Gardener Jack Campbell, has been responsible for the development of this garden.
This year it is one of the sites of the International Iris Show and features numerous exotic and unique irises in bloom. The gardens feature rose cultivation, native and adapted flowers and grasses, water features, and are a delight to behold in the spring.
Certified by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department as an official Texas Wildscape, these gardens provide an oasis of habitat in an urban setting, offering sanctuary for native birds, butterflies and other wildlife.
