Directions: Mo-Pac to South 360. Go to I-35, South. Exit 225 at FM 1626 and turn right on FM 1626. Turn right at Wayne Riddell Loop; left at Race Track Dr.; then left at Jockey Bluff Dr.
This unique garden is the creation of the owner. It features 15,000 gallon water collection tanks, solar power panels, and drip irrigation. The owner cultivates fruit trees, vegetables, and flowers, all organically grown, and selected for their edible qualities.
This garden has received numerous awards: it is a wildlife habitat and was designated a City of Austin Green Garden. It is an amazing example of how the standard subdivision backyard can become a small paradise filled with enough edible bounty to feed a family.
This gardener was chosen as the Texas State Master Gardener of the year in 2005. He is eager to share his wealth of information with other gardeners. From soil preparation to efficient use of water and the cultivation of unique plantings, this garden represents the truly sustainable garden.
